About Me

The Short Version

I'm Sufyan Osamah, 28, based in New York. Former McKinsey consultant turned VC-backed startup founder. I raised $700K+, built a company to €20M annual GMV, and now I'm looking for my next challenge at the intersection of AI and business.

Where I Come From

Born in Pakistan to a military family, I moved every two years growing up. At 11, I moved to the UK. At 17, Germany — where I started my bachelor's degree and eventually became a naturalized citizen. I did an exchange semester in Taiwan, got my MSc in Finance from WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management, and eventually made my way to New York.

That constant movement taught me something invaluable: how to adapt fast, build relationships quickly, and thrive in environments where nothing is familiar. It also gave me an appreciation for different perspectives and ways of thinking.

The Career Arc

I started in consulting at McKinsey, where I learned how to structure complex problems and communicate solutions clearly. Then I moved to Picus Capital as a VC analyst, where I learned how to evaluate businesses, understand markets, and think about what makes companies win.

But I always wanted to build, not advise. So in 2022, I founded HonestDog — a transparency platform for dog breeding and selling in Germany. I raised $700K+ as a solo founder, built the product from scratch on Bubble, and scaled to €20M annual GMV. It was the hardest and most rewarding thing I've ever done.

Now I'm building with AI tools and looking for a high-impact role where I can combine my operator experience with the most transformative technology of our generation.

What Drives Me

I'm obsessed with going deep. Whether it's training for a national powerlifting record, publishing peer-reviewed research on options pricing, or raising capital as a first-time founder — I don't do things halfway.

I love complexity. I love taking something messy and ambiguous and turning it into something clear and actionable. That's what drew me to consulting, to startups, and now to AI.

Beyond Work

When I'm not building, you'll find me in the gym (powerlifting is my main discipline), reading about health and biohacking, watching anime, or playing with dogs. I care deeply about physical and mental performance — it's all connected to how I show up at work.
